Emerge Work-Prep Center * 2015 Capital Campaign
Confidence is key! For our Emerge moms, we have seen that gaining employment and financial independence has become the leading confidence builder, as they are equipped to emerge as confident women and caring moms.
For each dollar invested in employment programs- $7 is returned to our society (nationaljournal.com; Art Berman TCRise and Independent MN Economists). And more, a whole new level of confidence is gained by the Emerge moms when they become employed and no longer rely on governement aid!
Join us in playing a ciritical role in the Emerge Women’s strides toward financial independence! Be a part of eliminating simple physical barriers of unemployment. One barrier is as simple as a computer and printer for job searching and creating a resume. Join this years’ capital campaign supporting the Emerge Mothers Academy “Emerge Work-Prep Center.”
In the Emerge Work-Prep Center our women are trained on interview skills, assisted in writing a resume, given access to computers and printers to print beautiful resumes, coached by our social work staff, and are provided with funds to purchase a great looking suit and cute shoes!
Once these women hold the tools necessary for achieving financial independence their confidence soars. Please join our efforts to keep the Work-Prep Center fully stocked for all of 2015. Capital Campaign funds will go toward:
- New Laptops/iPads and printers
- Resume folders and parchment paper
- Classy business suits and great shoes (*will accept gently used)
- Interview coaching from Social Work staff
- GED study materials and practice
At the end of the day, your funds will pour confidence into these women’s lives, and Minnesota women will be hearing “you’re hired” more and more!
*We have already received business suits from private donors, and the MN Women of Today. These donated suits are given to the Emerge moms within days of receipt.
Last year 80% of our moms seeking employment succeeded in being placed in meaningful employment. So far this year, 100% of our moms seeking employment have been offered jobs!!! THANK YOU
